The bold orange line shows our sea route: cargo is trucked from Johannesburg to Maputo and then shipped along the coast via Pemba (with transshipment in Nacala) to Afungi. The faint gray line illustrates the overland trucking leg which only runs Maputo to Pemba; limited barge capacity at Pemba can create gridlock for trucks.
- Ports of call: Afungi, Pemba, Nacala.
- Frequency: twice monthly departures from Maputo with transshipment in Nacala and a weekly feeder into Afungi.
- Shipping capabilities: 500 TEU capacity and 50 reefer points.
- Estimated duration: 5–7 days Maputo→Afungi via Pemba (including transshipment).
